00:00I don't know the formula why I stand out. I'm just a very passionate performer and

00:15singer. I could be one thing, I could be one thing, but I don't really know how to

00:18define myself as that. I don't know what the secret is. I've done

00:21something I'm very proud of. From generation to generation I've sort of

00:25sustained a career and I've reinvented myself before and that's a very rare

00:30thing in music and entertainment. Next year's gonna be my 28th year. Next year's

00:33a big year for me also because of course 20 years that's uh I'm gonna have a big

00:39party in Manila. That's what's gonna happen. I'm gonna I probably have a major

00:42concert then. For some I can see they can go into TV first you know and for some I

00:49can see can seriously get into music. It all depends on their commitment of what

00:54they want to do. Now's the time they have to say all right I joined the show

00:57now what do I really want to be? Do I want to be a singer or just a singer? Do

01:01I want to be an artist? Do I want to be a TV personality? I myself I'm looking for

01:05an artist. I'm looking for someone who's gonna sustain and continue what I do

01:09that's tell stories right and from a personal point of view I'm looking for

01:14an original voice. The magnifying glass is on them, the spotlights on them, so

01:18it's up to them to do what you know.

01:21It's unfair the people voted for him. That's music you know taste is taste. Did

01:26I think maybe Mike should have been the I mean I'm biased right so of course I'll

01:29say Mike should have the should have gone in there because he was a you know

01:33musician, an artist, a guy who wrote songs. You know that's the kind of thing I'm

01:37gonna continue to look for as even as the next show the next season progresses

01:42I'm not gonna change that. My personal favorite though was Clarice. I thought

01:47Clarice was really was really special. I mean I don't see her as a pop star I

01:51see her as like a like almost like a rock like a rock country pop artist

01:56almost like a Kelly Clarkson something like that and that's high praise because

02:00Kelly Clarkson's like amazing and a great vocalist a great singer and

02:03songwriter so I see her as that. I thought there was a lot of potential

02:07with her to sort of to be this sort of big thing right. In contrast to Mike, Mike

02:14is such a talented singer but I see him as a guy who sort of built a niche and

02:19built a sort of a you know guy who a songwriter a guy's gonna sort of create

02:23his own thing and push forward with that a real original and but he's very

02:28young he was the youngest most inexperienced guy in the four right and

02:33Janice was amazing Janice is always amazing. I think he is he's a performer

02:40it's his real gig he plays in Resorts World. We're shooting The Voice he plays

02:43that on a weekly basis. I'm just very happy for him and his family I know that

02:47like I've been there I've played the set that sort of the weekend gigs in and

02:52out so for him to sort of do that after all this time you know I mean you have

02:57to be happy for him regardless of you what if he sort of fits your taste or

03:02not. Do I say yes is he a great singer and yes he is vocally great is he my

03:08taste I don't think so you know me just doesn't fit my sort of

03:13sensibilities right because I'm a guy who sort of chooses everything has to

03:17connect like a like the vocal tone has to connect with the power blah blah blah

03:21you have to be a total package within your package. That takes too much time I

03:28would love that but maybe later on but this has given me a taste of that just

03:33what you can do with such young raw talent in the Philippines I mean they

03:37are raw that's that's that's a big realization for me that they were so raw

03:43compared to guys I listened to in the US or the UK the shows there where you can

03:48tell they were very experienced compared to in Manila especially my team we have

03:52the youngest team I think if you're gonna average it out and I really had

03:57the seriously that that coach thing on behind me I really coached I really

04:02mentor these guys I really spent time with them and I really truly knew who

04:06moving for who is like the real artist who who's in here for a career and who's

04:11here who's just passing but passing through I got a good gauge of that

04:15managing I'm just too busy right now I mean that's maybe when I'm yeah I don't

04:21I have no idea I can never say but yeah it's music first and I just want to

04:26create first I want to do an album that's that's that's first that's first

04:29that's why I love to do
