Its time for Diwali in the UAE and the spirit of festivity pervades the entire country.
00:14
The Indian expatriate community is all set to welcome the festival of lights and happiness
00:20
with palpable enthusiasm and energy. Rows and rows of flowers, earthen and ceramic lamps,
00:26
pots and tea lights decorate shops. Busy shoppers throng the bazaars for traditional stuff.
00:32
Im from England, visiting Dubai. Ive come to see my brother. Im really looking
00:36
forward to celebrating Diwali here. Well be going to the temple on Sunday. Yeah, just
00:41
to experience what Diwali in Dubai will be like. We enjoy it very much back in England.
00:47
Im from Dublin, Ireland and Im visiting Dubai to do a bit of shopping for clothes.
00:54
In Dublin, its not that much grand, but here it looks like there are lots of lights
00:58
and you have these whole Indian shops where you can buy very traditional Indian clothes
01:04
and lots of Indian sweets. So, I plan to take a lot of this back to Ireland. Its about
01:10
being different this Diwali. Happy Diwali from the Dulais from England and Canada.
01:16
Its business time for fashion houses, jewelers and traditional sweet shops. See, we have
01:23
a wide variety of people coming. Its not just the locals, its also the foreigners.
01:28
You will be amazed to see more foreigners do the shopping for Diwali than the residents.
01:33
Trend is traditional. Traditional is what people are looking for to buy. The antique,
01:37
the temple jewellery collection that is coming new.
01:40
So folks, dispel the darkness from your heart, banish all the sorrows and get ready to savour
01:45
the taste of true Indian traditions and hospitality. Suchitra Bachpai Chowdhury for GALAK NEWS.
