00:00Well, a smartphone addict is somebody that is constantly keeping their phone in their
00:12hands.
00:13Actually, not one phone, but two or three phones oftentimes.
00:17And they're constantly fuddling around with it, using it to not only work with it or answer
00:23the phone, but use social media, play games on it, connect to the web.
00:28They're constantly on connection with it, basically, and with the rest of the world.
00:34Smartphone addict is the one who's always on his or her phone, downloading so many apps
00:41and making sure that he or she uses those apps as well, to a point that a person is
00:48actually dependent on that phone already, maybe for exercising, maybe for leisure, for
00:55chatting or for games.
00:58Utilizing it effectively, not necessarily be an addiction, but then if over-indulgence
01:05is involved, then that is the time that you would perhaps term it as an addiction.
01:09The first thing you do when you wake up in the morning is scan the bed for your phone.
01:14Or if you often forget that your phone can actually make phone calls, you're probably
01:19an addict.
01:20Since I'm actually here in Dubai, it's a good way, it's a tool for me to chat with my friends
01:26back home, with my family back home.
01:28It's so easy for me to chat with them and basically play games, because I'm really addicted
01:34to games.
01:36Every quarter, I look out for a new phone, and if there is something that is available
01:40in the market that is really exciting, then I would go and pick it up.
01:43Well, I'm addicted to iPhone, honestly, so not necessarily I buy new phones, like the
01:48latest technology, I'm more about an iPhone user and the iPhone apps that are connected
01:53to it.
01:55No, I can't live without my smartphone at this point.
02:00I realize because the rare times that I've forgotten it, I have to go back and get it
02:05and look for it.
02:06So no, I cannot live without it, although I'd like to say I can live without it.
02:10And I can't because, I mean, it's part of my daily life, I mean, it's normal, like mobile
02:14phones are part of everyday life now, I can't do without it.
02:17Well, I can live without my smartphone if I really tried.
02:21But then the question is, do you really want to live without your smartphone in this world
02:28today?
02:29Because smartphone really makes you very effective and efficient.
02:33It's easy for you to tell your loved ones who are abroad that you basically miss them
02:41and you love them.
02:42So yes, I cannot live without it.
02:44Like I even go frantic when I don't have my phone in my bag.
02:50No, I can't live without a smartphone.
02:53It's very hard, especially when it's at the center of your life.
03:00Well, what I like about a smartphone is that I have it with me and I can rely on it for
