Sohail's take on Salman

Indian filmmaker Sohail Khan talks about how he feels producing and directing a movie of his famous brother Salman Khan.

00:00You have to give the respect to him that he is a big star, fortunately he is my brother,

00:08so I have a little more access to him where I can discuss things with him on a one to

00:11one level.

00:12Because of the closeness, there is a lot that we can share and try to bring the best out

00:18in both of us.

00:19So that accessibility is there and because I just don't see him as a director and act

00:23on the set.

00:24There is a lot that I see of him at home, there is a lot that I can study of him and

00:28that is something that I can actually accommodate in the film.

00:30I think it is maturity and experience.

00:31He has always been very free in front of the camera and I have always called him, he is

00:35like clay, you can actually mould him.

00:36He is one of the very few actors that you can mould according to what the dimension

00:41or the requirement of the scene is.

00:42He is one of the very few actors we can do an emotional film, a comedy film, an action

00:46film, a drama film, so you can actually play with him.

00:48Obviously he has gained stardom and when you gain that kind of stardom, there is a certain

00:55kind of, with the kind of image even comes a kind of responsibility that now the expectation

01:04is much more.

01:05But believe me, now working with him, I genuinely believe that he has become his audience's

01:09actor.

01:10He only performs for his audience.

01:11His complete genre of acting is to actually give it back to them and please them.

01:15Luckily the man who has got a universal appeal, with that universal appeal he has even got

01:20compliment that you even compare him to or he is going on the path of Mr. Rajnikanth.

01:25The film is terribly title mental, it's a very righteous film, he says the right stuff,

01:29he believes.

01:30In fact there is, it's a lot of true to life, he is a very big star but with a very big

01:33star comes a lot of big expectations too.

01:35Now you can't do any kind of ordinary work with him, you have to do justice to his stardom.

01:39Please the fans basically work hard on him now, you have this opportunity and you should

01:43not let it go.
