00:00Mr. President, on tariffs, sir, you talked about
00:02reciprocal tariffs coming in this week.
00:04Can you tell us a little bit more about that?
00:05And are you announcing a plan for it this week?
00:08Or will tariffs themselves 2 p.m. this week?
00:10The President I'll be announcing, probably
00:12Tuesday or Wednesday, at a news conference,
00:14reciprocal tariffs.
00:15And, very simply, it's if they charge us, we charge
00:19them.
00:19That's all.
00:20The Press When is it going to affect, sir?
00:21The President Almost immediately.
00:23But I'll be announcing the details of it.
00:25Highly detailed.
00:27And it'll be great for everybody, including the
00:29other countries.
00:30But if they are charging us 130 percent and we're
00:33charging them nothing, it's not going to stay
00:36that way.
00:37The Press This is on every country?
00:38The President Every country will be
00:39reciprocal this week.
00:41Every country.
00:42The Press Mr. President, can you confirm that you
00:42The President It won't affect everybody because
00:44there's somewhere we have similar tariffs.
00:47But the ones that are taking advantage of the
00:49United States, we're going to have a — it's
00:51reciprocity.
00:52It's reciprocal.
00:52We're going to have a reciprocal plan.
00:54But we'll have a news conference Tuesday or
00:57Wednesday.
00:58The Press Just on the steel question, just so I
01:00understand you correctly —
01:01The President I'll also be announcing steel tariffs
01:02on Monday.
01:03The Press On this — tomorrow?
01:04The President Monday.
01:05Yeah.
01:06Tomorrow.
01:07The Press What countries will those go on?
01:08The President Everybody.
01:09Steel.
01:09The Press Including Canada and Mexico?
01:11The President Yeah.
01:11Any steel coming into the United States is going to
01:14have a 25 percent tariff.
01:16The Press What about aluminum, sir?
01:17The President Aluminum, too.
01:18The Press 10 percent?
01:19I was going to say, wasn't it?
01:20The President No, 25 percent.
01:21The Press 25 or aluminum?
01:22The President 25.
01:23For both.
01:23Nobody can have a majority stake for U.S. steel.
01:26You can for other companies, but not for
01:28U.S. steel.
01:29I think you agree with that, Doug, right?
01:30U.S. steel was one of our great companies, and
01:33through a lot of stupidity and bad government and
01:36also bad management of the company, it lost that
01:39luster.
01:41But it's going to gain it back, and tariffs are
01:43going to help.
01:43Tariffs are going to make it very successful again.
01:46And I think it has good management now, too.
