IAEA chief says attacks around Europe's largest nuclear power plant have increased

Russian forces seized the NPP in the early weeks following the 2022 invasion and have held it ever since but fighting around the complex has raised fears of a nuclear accident.

00:31In a statement, Rosatom said Ukraine was constantly shelling Enerhoda, the closest town to the

00:38But Grossi said it wasn't possible to determine which side was responsible for the strikes.

00:45Rosatom also emphasized the increasing risks for nuclear security at the Kursk nuclear

00:50power plant.

00:52Ukrainian troops launched an incursion into Kursk in August last year, it says, to prevent

00:56Russian forces from launching strikes into Ukraine.
