00:00Vice President Sara Duterte gave a statement about the impeachment trial against her.

00:05Her legal team is preparing their next move in regards to the decision of a low-ranking prisoner.

00:19House Speaker Martin Romualde has already announced the date of the impeachment trial against Vice President Sara Duterte.

00:27In a statement, the House leader insisted that they are not rushing the senators on this matter.

00:33This Wednesday, in the 215th vote, the Vice President was impeached by the House.

00:39According to the House Secretary General Reginald Velasco,

00:4225 congressmen have already joined the impeachment complaint.

00:46If the Senate Impeachment Court allows the addition of more than 240 congressmen,

00:53the total number of those who supported the complaint from the House.

00:57Are you rushing the Senate to conduct the hearing?

01:01It's up to them. It's up to them. We leave it up to their sound discretion.

01:08Meanwhile, ACT-Partylist Representative Percy Centana responded to the statement of Vice President Sara Duterte

01:15that she hopes that God will save the country after she is impeached by the camera.

01:19God save the Philippines. Yes, we agree. God save the Philippines from the Duterte, especially VP Sara Duterte.

01:28VP Sara will be upset by the statement of God save the Philippines.

01:32She has not been able to save DepEd from corruption.

01:37She has not been able to save confidential and intelligence funds from various anomalies.

01:44She has not been able to save fishermen in the West Philippine Sea.

01:48So she has no right to say and invoke God save the Philippines.

01:52Because in many occasions, she failed to save the Philippines.

01:56According to Centana, instead of praying to God, VP Sara should explain first about the heavy issue against her.

02:04I want to tell VP Sara that this is not a matter of dating.

02:08This is a matter of public accountability and responsibility.

02:11Her statement that she said it's more painful to leave a partner than to be impeached,

02:16shows how low her regard for public service is, how she does not value the mandate of the people.

02:26The Young Guns group also rejected the vice president's small-scale impeachment.

02:31They did not want the vice president to avoid VP Sara's response to the heavy accusation against her.

02:37House Deputy Majority Leader Paulo Ortega also insisted that the vice president seems to be living in another dimension.

02:44The Makabayan bloc also rejected VP Sara's inappropriate response to this important issue.

02:51According to Surigao del Norte's 2nd District Representative Robert Ace Barbers,

02:55their support for impeaching Vice President Duterte is based and irreplaceable.

03:01Almost 80 percent of the House of Representatives agreed to this, so this reflects the voice of the people.

03:09Political parties had a consultation. They were given a copy of this complaint, they studied and analyzed it.

03:22Some members agreed to this and there's no substitute for this.

03:29The issue here is transparency, accountability and rule of law.

03:37We need to have a judgment and justice.

03:44Meanwhile, at a press conference the other day,

03:47Vice President Sara Duterte said that her legal counsel is preparing an impeachment case against her.

03:54We've already started preparing the moment Franz Castro announced the impeachment plan, which is November of 2023.

04:03So November of 2023, there will already be lawyers doing their work for the impeachment.

04:11So, we'll give this to the lawyers.

04:15Today, Duterte met with his legal team.

04:18It can be remembered that there were 215 congressmen in the House of Representatives

04:23who signed to have him removed from office.

04:26While in the Senate, the result of the impeachment proceedings was being discussed

04:31and Duterte was asked about the seriousness of the impeachment proceedings in the Senate.

04:35Well, that is their prerogative as a body.

04:38So, we have to respect the Senate on their decision because they are the ones who are inside.

04:50We haven't talked. I have not talked to my friends in the Senate.

04:55The Vice President also said that she has no plan to be removed from office until the Senate makes a decision.
