00:00Economists believe that the government's steps require the collection of workers' savings

00:07for foreign workers to be able to reduce the problem of foreign arrivals without permission,

00:11but must be balanced with the correct enforcement.

00:15This is important because there are employers who try not to register foreign workers

00:19on the basis of a complicated registration and approval process,

00:23said Aimi Zulhazmi Rashid from the University of Kuala Lumpur.

00:27Aimi also believes that this mandatory fund will be able to attract skilled workers

00:32because it provides a better level of welfare.

00:35Meanwhile, Ida Hamraza from the University of Mara believes

00:39that this mandatory fund will support KWSP funds

00:43as well as be able to increase domestic investment.

00:46However, the government must ensure that the implementation does not burden the employers,

00:51especially for sectors that are highly dependent on foreign workers,

00:55such as agriculture and construction.

00:58He suggested that the government consider giving incentives or adjustments

01:02in the level of foreign workers to balance the additional costs borne by the employers.
