00:00consider various other things.
00:03We haven't agreed on tariffs yet.
00:04And maybe we will, maybe we won't.
00:06Banks are not, as an example, allowed.
00:08Did you know that, that banks, American banks,
00:09are not allowed to do business in Canada?
00:11Can you believe that?
00:12But we have a very good relationship.
00:14I also spoke with Prime Minister Trudeau of Canada.
00:18On the tariffs, is there any chance that Canada or China
00:21could also get out of the tariffs
00:23after you start the deal with Mexico?
00:24Well, nobody is out with Mexico.
00:26We had a great talk with Mexico.
00:30And we had President Scheinbaum is a woman.
00:35I like her very much.
00:36We've had good relationships.
00:38But we have to stop fentanyl from coming in,
00:40whether I like somebody or not.
00:41And we have to stop the illegal aliens from coming in.
00:45I think we've lost 200,000 people on average a year
00:48for many years, much higher than the 100,000.
00:51Could be even closer to 300,000.
00:54And they've agreed to put in 10,000 soldiers permanently,
00:59like forever, 10,000 soldiers at their side of the border
01:03and stop fentanyl and illegal aliens
01:05from coming into our country.
01:07They have a big incentive to do.
01:09Other than that, we've agreed to talk
01:11and consider various other things.
01:14We haven't agreed on tariffs yet.
01:16And maybe we will, maybe we won't.
01:18But we have a very good relationship.
01:20I also spoke with Prime Minister Trudeau of Canada.
01:25And we had a good talk in the morning.
01:27But I did ask him a couple of questions, like,
01:29you know, banks aren't allowed to do business in Canada.
01:32Canada is very tough.
01:33Canada is very, you know, we're not treated well by Canada.
01:37And we have to be treated well.
01:41Banks are not, as an example, allowed.
01:43Did you know that, that banks, American banks
01:45are not allowed to do business in Canada?
01:46Can you believe that?
01:48And that's one of many things we talked about.
01:50And I think we'll win most of the subjects.
01:54But for some reason, a lot of things
01:57have been very unfair with Canada.
01:58I noticed that in the first term.
02:00You deal with people, and after a while,
02:02you begin to realize, like, you learn that Larry Ellison
02:05is very tough to do business with, okay?
02:07He's a very tough guy.
02:08I mean, I'm sure you're shocked to hear that.
02:11But Canada is very tough.
02:14They're very, very tough to do business with.
02:17And we can't let them take advantage of the U.S.
02:20They don't take our agricultural product, for the most part.
02:24They don't take our cars.
02:25They make cars, but they basically don't take our cars.
02:28And, you know, we don't need — and look,
02:30I think we're going to have another good conversation today.
02:33We're actually speaking at 3 o'clock again.
02:36But we don't need them to make our cars.
02:38We don't need them to give us lumber.
02:40We don't need them for agricultural products
02:42because we have all the agriculture we need.
02:45They don't take our agricultural product,
02:47for the most part — our milk and dairy, et cetera.
02:50A little bit, they do, but not much.
02:52We take theirs.
02:55And as far as cars are concerned,
02:56they took in a big percentage — almost 19 percent of the market.
03:01And, you know, I wouldn't mind making our cars
03:03in the United States. So we have a problem there.
03:06I'd like to make our cars in the U.S.
03:09We don't need Canada to make our cars.
03:11With that being said, we're going to have another call
03:12at 3 o'clock.
03:14We had a call this morning.
03:15It was a pretty good call, I'd say.
03:18So the call with Mexico went very well,
03:20in the sense that they're very strong now on the border.
03:23They're going to put soldiers there.
03:26Actually, we'll have, I think, some very fair —
03:29all we want is a fair deal.
03:31And, you know, there's a word, reciprocal.
03:33I'd go right now, reciprocal tariffs on everybody.
03:37Because many of the countries that you feel so horrible
03:40about the way they're being treated by Trump,
03:42you're saying, oh, President Trump is so terrible to them.
03:45Well, they charge us tariffs.
03:47European Union has a VAT tax, which is through the roof.
03:50Okay? It's a similar thing, similar to a tariff.
03:53It's a VAT. And they have it.
03:56And it's numbers like you wouldn't believe.
03:58And Canada, I told you about the banks,
04:01and I told you they charge us.
04:03And people don't say that. They don't like to say it.
