00:00The central budget was announced.
00:02After the third time the NDA government came to power, the first full-length budget was passed on Saturday.
00:07Keeping in mind the Middle Ages, Central Minister Nirmala Sitharaman took a handful of measures.
00:13But in this budget, it is particularly important to reduce the use of medical facilities and make a handful of medicines priceless.
00:22The NDA government has decided to reduce the cost of cancer-free medicines to 500-700.
00:52I also propose to add six life-saving medicines to the list attracting concessional custom duty of 5%.
01:08Full exemption and concessional duty will also respectively apply on the bulk drugs for manufacture of the above.
01:18But not only medicines, mobile phone, TV, public transport and many other things have also been reduced in the budget.
01:29In the last year's budget, the cost of a mobile phone has also been reduced.
01:33Now the cost of a mobile phone can be reduced further.
01:36For the production of batteries, 18 extra pages have been added.
01:41In addition to this, the cost of lithium batteries has also been reduced.
01:45In addition to this, the cost of glasses, duster, and Indian certified eye glasses has also been reduced.
01:52After the budget announcement, Nirmala came in front of the journalists and said,
01:57Keeping in mind the development of India, the budget has been presented.
02:11Invested in agriculture, it has certainly looked at rural prosperity.
02:17Focuses on urban development, particularly looking at urban workers and continues to lay emphasis on reforms.
02:35Six specified sectors have been identified and I spoke about it in the budget.
02:42Sectors in which we will continue our reform agenda.
02:46All this even as we have continuously been engaged with the stakeholders.
02:54And interest of education and health has been prioritized.
03:02When we are talking about education, from a child in a daycare center,
03:09portion for women, lactating mothers, till the level of getting skilling done,
03:17and also for artificial intelligence and digital reading material for students in schools and colleges.
03:25Every aspect of education and bringing in that dimension which is so critical for health.
03:32Daycare cancer centers and making sure more medical seats are available.
03:38These are kind of things with which I am trying to highlight.
03:43The approach in this budget has been pointed on areas which definitely need immediate intervention,
03:51outlays and action along with the states.
