00:32In a radio interview, Transportation Undersecretary Jesus Ferdinand Ortega said
00:38that the Department of Transportation is now starting the route rationalization for each LGU under the Local Public Transportation Route Plans or LPTRP.
00:49This process will be completed within two years,
00:52where it will be known if the number of POV operators and drivers who operate in each province or city is sufficient or not.
01:00What we are doing now is called route rationalization.
01:05For two years, the entire Philippines, Checheque, LGUs, DOTR, LTFRB,
01:12each route will be analyzed to know if we will add more vehicles or reduce them so that we can help the traffic.
01:20After the route rationalization, the Public Transport Modernization Program will be followed,
01:26which aims to replace old jeepneys with new units.
01:30So this will happen for the next two years.
01:32After the two years journey, that's when we will replace the so-called modern vehicles.
01:38The LPTRP includes a detailed route, mode of service,
01:42and the required number of vehicles to ensure effective service to the public.
01:47This also includes the travel schedule, location of the vehicle and other important transport facilities.
01:55This plan is being formed by LGUs and it will be overseen by LTFRB
