An American Airlines flight from Wichita, Kansas, was landing at Washington Reagan National Airport when it collided with a military helicopter, crashing into the Potomac River in the worst US aviation disaster in more than 20 years.

00:545342 from Kansas was approaching Washington Reagan National Airport.

00:59A military helicopter appeared to fly into the path of the AA jet, with both aircraft

01:04crashing into the Potomac River.

01:06A federal investigation is currently underway, but probes into air crashes can take months.

01:13The flight data recorders were recovered from the AA plane late on Thursday evening, and

01:17the National Transportation Safety Board said they're currently being analyzed in their

01:22lab.

01:23After his press conference, the White House invited reporters to the Oval Office to watch

01:28Trump sign another executive order that officials said would stop woke policies in federal aviation.
