00:00The negotiation for the Status of Visiting Forces Agreement or SOGFA was officially started by the Philippines and New Zealand.

00:08According to the Department of National Defense, the first round of the agreement took place on January 23 in Manila.

00:15This is an important step in strengthening the bilateral defense ties between the Philippines and New Zealand.

00:23Under the SOGFA, the cooperation between the two countries will increase when it comes to the implementation of various exercises that will deepen defense and military cooperation.

00:36The SOGFA is the result of the agreement between President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Lakson when he visited the Philippines in April 2024.
