00:00The only thing she knew because when I had told her that I'm doing this film and I feel
00:09that a huge injustice has happened and I was being burdened by a lot of guilt that you
00:13know I haven't even tried for it she understood that I think it was more it was more not just
00:18a citizen and the CM talking it was more of a woman from one woman to another woman and
00:24I think she's the one who kind of resonated with the same same guilt and the same I think
00:31the same emotion of loss and pathos so that's the reason why she decided to change it within
00:37two days and I'm so happy and then thereafter she of course wished me luck for my film so
00:41yes of course as as you know me and my lead actor keep saying that the struggle was not
00:52just the budget the struggle was to get the budget of a hero's film like a male centric
00:57film to make this kind of film like there are many women centric films which are being
01:01made across India and beautifully so but this subject required a certain amount of budget
01:08which only a hero could have probably justified at the box office so the struggle was to kind
01:13of believe in Rukmini and my dream and make it our dream and make it our dream and so
01:20that you know we can we can make the film that we want to make so thankfully of course
01:26we got Dev Adhikari and Pratik Chakraborty as our producers whom we called as you know
01:30two angels from from from from the wonderland ages from the wonderland who actually agreed
01:37to kind of you know see the dream along with us because it is not possible that you don't
01:41get to see these kind of movies you don't get to see women centric period films in this
01:46kind of budget also so yes two years I think was struggle but worth it I think it was it
01:58wasn't easy or difficult that would be the adjective I like to use but what happened
02:02was I I surrendered to the part I I I believe that God has chosen me to play this part and
02:10he will show me the way which has happened because I met a few senior journalists here
02:15who were in tears while talking to me about the part so I think that's a huge honor that
02:22people could connect with the divine and the divinity with the role and yeah I mean even
02:30like there were instances when we were on set doing the part there was one scene where
02:37he passes away and she has she sings her last farewell song for him and everybody in this
02:43on the set we're in tears so I'm sure there's somebody who's watching us and is taking care
02:48of us and have the ashiva dana so it's all him
02:54I think I have amazed Vinodini already and that's what I've been living with for like
03:05five years and for me I think the the beginning and the end of Vinodini is Rukmini Maitra
03:12because that's what where this is the lady who stood by me and she gave her blood and
03:19sweat for this role so I can't of course see anybody but Rukmini as Vinodini even if I
03:26make it in in in Arabic or in Japanese I think she will be my first choice for Vinodini unless
03:34and until she's not willing to learn Japanese or Arabic then I might change her and get
03:39into some different so yeah Rukmini is my Vinodini and she'll always be my Vinodini
03:51Fans I think that she speaks really well
03:57to watch Vinodini I think to all the fans of not only Rukmini or Chandan or Ram I think to
04:04all the fans of cinema yes of course of cinema of Vinodini's fans because I think had Vinodini
04:10not been there there wouldn't be any fans for any other heroine so I think to everyone watching us
04:15at this moment please please please go watch Vinodini at theatres near you it has released
04:21all over Bengal on the 23rd of January and it's running successfully all across Bengal and it is
04:26hitting the theatres nationally from the 31st of January so please go watch Vinodini at theatres
04:32near you and be for Vinodini
