Deal reached to allow displaced Palestinians to return to northern Gaza, says Qatar

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said on Saturday that displaced Palestinians would not be allowed to return to their homes in northern Gaza until the civilian hostage Arbel Yehoud was released by Hamas.

00:34people can start crossing on foot at 7 a.m. local time.

00:38That comes after Israel said on Saturday that displaced Palestinians wouldn't be allowed

00:43to return to northern Gaza until Yehud was released.

00:47Also on Sunday, U.S. President Donald Trump suggested neighboring countries could take

00:51in Palestinians to clean out Gaza.

00:54Trump described the strip as a demolition site and suggested moving Palestinians away

00:59from Gaza could be temporary, could be long-term.

01:03Hamas and the Palestinian Authority criticized that suggestion and it was rejected by both

01:08Jordan and Egypt.
