00:00The Department of Agriculture is targeting the increase of the price of pork to local families
00:05so that it can avoid abuse or profiteering.
00:08According to Agriculture Secretary Francisco T. Laurel Jr.,
00:12they will need two to three weeks to investigate the situation.
00:16First, the DA explained that the price of pork has increased
00:19due to the effect of African Swine Fever and the high demand of the past holiday season.
00:25Moreover, the agency insisted that there is still a lot of supply of imported pork
00:29so the price should not be increased excessively.
00:32According to the monitoring of the DA,
00:34the price of pork to the families in the National Capital Region or NCR
00:38is between Php 230 to Php 480 per kilo.
00:55We are already computing the value chain like we did with rice
01:01and to see the value on a contemporary level.
