00:20And very quickly, we realized he is anything but simple.

00:27I remember reading the script for the very first time.

00:30I was very confused why they would offer me

00:32the role of Marvin Gable, because I thought

00:34it was written for somebody else.

00:36In fact, I said, you should be calling Jason Statham.

00:40And I understand that what they were trying to achieve

00:43was to create a different kind of action star.

00:47Someone that is not afraid to be vulnerable or wear

00:50his emotions on the sleeves.

00:58I went to film school.

00:59A Hong Kong action director named Koi Yuen

01:01taught me choreography for action.

01:04And I was able to put that to good use as an actor.

01:08Going into this, I wanted to be able to do

01:10all the fights myself.

01:12And I trained with our guys for a long time,

01:14trying to get myself in shape in preparation for this,

01:17because I knew that we were doing something special.

01:20And man, it was hard.

01:21It was tough.

01:22A normal day at the office.

01:24It was really great to have Kih in this role,

01:26because he has an incredible action background

01:28as a former stunt performer and stunt actor.
