00:33Bhabha Atomic Research Centre and Sagar University's Microbiological Department have worked on carbon nanoparticles,

00:44which has been published in London's famous Science General Nanoscale.

00:50Let's find out what Dr. Yogesh Bhargav from Sagar University's Microbiological Department has to say about the research.

01:01The field of nanoparticles is not new.

01:05You can divide a nanoparticle into two parts.

01:12Either it is carbon or non-carbonous.

01:16Non-carbonous nanoparticles have been studied extensively.

01:19But the field of carbon nanoparticles is still being studied.

01:24Carbon dot is the youngest member of the nanoparticles.

01:29So, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre is working with our youngest, newly discovered members.

01:37We want to find out whether the cancer cells in the pandemic are our own or the normal cells.

01:50There is no distinction between the two.

01:52You can't differentiate.

01:54If it is a bacterium, you can find out whether it is dead or not by looking at the size and shape of the bacterium.

02:01But when our own cells are getting affected, how can we find out?

02:06That's why we need a chemical that can label the cancer cells differentially.

02:14We are using nanoparticles from our carbon dots to make chemicals.

02:23This is our cooperation with Bhabha Atomic Research Centre.

02:27The special thing is that this will not harm the healthy cells.

02:32And through this, the chemical functional group cells will be sent.

02:38Which will work to cure the sick cells.

02:43There are many functional groups of carbon.

02:46Which work like hooks.

02:49If you apply medicine on these hooks, they can reach the cells easily.

02:55Radioactivity plays an important role in radioactivity testing.

03:02Because it is a sensitivity.

03:04Sensitivity is because you can detect a radioactive molecule in thousands or crores of atoms.

03:14But radioactivity can cause cancer in itself.

03:18So we found out that the weapon that is being used to save you is affecting your other cells.

03:24So you need another system, right?

03:27So in that sense, carbon nanoparticles.

03:30In other words, it is also called carbon dots or carbon quantum dots.

03:35So you can see that the field of carbon is new.

03:39And the quantum field will bring a revolution in the world.
