00:00The Department of Agriculture's target is 20.4 million metric tons of rice this year.

00:07The announcement was made by Agriculture Secretary Francisco Chulaurel Jr.

00:12followed by the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

00:15to return the 10 billion pesos in budget cuts in the production of rice.

00:21In 2023, the country recorded 20.6 million metric tons of rice

00:27production before the El Nino Phenomenon and Planinia happened in 2024.
