00:30A very good news greeted her when she learned that a kadiwa na pangulo kiosk
00:34which offers affordable prices of the staple grain is now at the Kamuning Public Market.
00:39It's starting today, rice price at 38 pesos per kilo can be bought at a kadiwa na pangulo outlet.
01:01These are either a 25% price or 25% broken rice.
01:06In an interview with Radyo Pilipinas, Department of Agriculture's Spokesperson Assistant Secretary Arnel De Mesa
01:11mentioned there are 20 markets in Metro Manila selling rice at 38 pesos per kilo.
01:16The DA hopes to expand the number of kadiwa stores in the National Capital Region.
01:21They are asking for an outlet for 150 private and public markets in the National Capital Region.
01:32Moreover, the staple grain price at 45 pesos per kilo or the 5% broken rice is now available at the kadiwa na pangulo kiosk.
01:40The so-called sulit rice is being sold for 36 pesos per kilo.
01:44There's also the aging but still good quality of rice stock from the NFA priced at 29 pesos.
01:50Starting Monday, the implementation of the maximum suggested retail price of 58 pesos for imported rice will take effect.
01:56The DA is coordinating with Metro Manila mayors to make government subsidized rice available in all public and private markets in the region.
