00:00Good morning to all of you. We are now here at the Bureau of Plant Industries in Malate, Manila
00:05where we have a Kadiwa store here.
00:09Since it is effective today, from Php 40, it will only be Php 38 per kilo of 25% broken rice variety.
00:19You can buy this from Kadiwa stores like the one behind me.
00:24And just like here in Malate, which started on January 16, from 7am to 4pm,
00:32you can buy these cheaper varieties of rice.
00:39And of course, just like the ones you can see behind me,
00:42there are other vegetables that are also cheaper.
00:45For now, there are two kiosks and centers,
00:48Kadiwa ng Pangulo or KNP, in 12 cities of Metro Manila.
00:53Aside from here in Manila, there are also in Quezon City, Paranaque, Las Piñas, Malabon, Pasay,
00:59Mandaluyong, Valenzuela, Taguig, Navotas, Caloocan, and Marikina.
01:04The rice with 5% broken grains can be bought for Php 45 per kilo,
01:10while the so-called worth it rice or 100% broken variety is worth Php 36 per kilo.
01:18Aside from this, Php 29 per kilo of rice is sold to vulnerable sectors under the Php 29 program.
01:26On Monday, January 20, the maximum suggested retail price will be up to Php 58 per kilo for 5% broken imported rice.
01:36Later, we will be able to watch the Department of Agriculture's Dogmeister Rice for All program.
01:48Thank you for tuning in to UNANG Balita.
