00:22According to City Tourism Officer Aloysius Mapalo,

00:25the increase of tourism in Baguio City has increased by 25% compared to the gross domestic product or GDP of the city.

00:32In the past years, we know how tourism is boosting the economy of Baguio City,

00:40including all the direct or indirectly related establishments.

00:44The Hotel and Restaurant Association of Baguio set up a statement by the local government

00:50on the assistance given by tourism to the economy of the city.

00:54Our economy is revolving around the industry of tourism.

01:00That is the number one driving force of the economy of Baguio City.

01:04Next is education.

01:06It is a great thing for tourists to come to Baguio

01:13because most of the businesses that we have cater to tourism.

01:18Baguio City will be remembered for its economic growth in Cordillera

01:22based on the 2023 Provincial Product Accounts issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority.

01:28In total, accommodation and food service activities are the fastest growing

01:33that are followed by other services and transportation.

01:36Due to tourism and the rise of traffic,

01:40such as the tight traffic lanes,

01:42the government is working hard on this.
