00:00The Commission on Elections or COMELEC stopped the printing of official balotas to be used in the election of 2025.
00:15This is followed by the issuance of a Temporary Restraining Order or TRO by the Supreme Court on the decisions of COMELEC to disqualify their aspirants or those declared nuisance.
00:26Because of the TRO, the names of the five aspirants must be returned to the balota to the Senator and other local opposition.
00:34According to COMELEC, they will follow the orders of the Supreme Court.
00:37But there are many things that must be fixed before they can be reprinted again.
00:40The candidate's database, election management system, automated counting machine and consolidated canvassing system must be updated.
00:48More than 1,000 ballot face templates and serializations will also be changed.
00:54The numbers of the candidates will also be changed once the candidate's database and election management system have been updated.
01:01That's when the balota will be reprinted.
01:04Studies are being conducted on whether the trusted build must be repeated because of the change in the database and election management system.
