00:00In lacrosse, it was a good start for the Philippine women's lacrosse team
00:06after winning a bronze medal in the 2025 Asia-Pacific Lacrosse Championship.
00:11This is what our teammate Daryl Oclares has to say.
00:15Even though it was the first time that the Philippine women's lacrosse team
00:20participated in the 2025 Asia-Pacific Women's Lacrosse Championship,
00:24they were already victorious in the tournament.
00:27The Philippine women's lacrosse team won the bronze medal
00:30after defeating the Chinese Taipei on Saturday in the battle for third
00:34that ended in a score of 18-6.
00:36The first in our lacrosse team was Steph Lasso who scored five goals.
00:41I feel absolutely electric.
00:43I'm so, so grateful for our team. I'm grateful for our staff.
00:47You know, we really believed in each other and we knew this was going to be a grind.
00:51And I'm just so, so proud of us of how we adapted, adjusted, and really came out to play today.
00:55Before the medal could be lifted, the Philippine women's lacrosse team
00:59immediately showed their determination in the full play
01:01that was played by the powerhouse teams of China and Hong Kong.
01:05Because of this, the country was already qualified for the first time
01:09in the 2026 World Lacrosse Women's Championship that will be held in Japan.
01:14That's why Lasso divided what their goal was
01:18to be successful in their campaign in the tournament.
01:21I think the energy that we bring, if you heard us pre-game during the rain delay,
01:26we were just going crazy in the locker room.
01:28You know, it's really that energy that brought us together
01:31and the belief in each other that, you know, we look to the person to your left, to your right
01:36and know that they believe in you.
01:38So that was a really big key for us to win the bronze medal today.
01:44Darla Clarice for the Filipino athlete for the new Philippines.
