00:00Orissa is a rich tourism destination with culture, history, religious sites, national

00:07parks and pristine beaches.

00:09The PBD convention highlighted Orissa's tourism potential.

00:15Several Indian IT companies have already established their base in Orissa.

00:19The PBD event was an opportunity to showcase what Orissa has to offer to the world.

00:25It was felt that Orissa can be a gateway to promoting cultural ties between India

00:31and the ASEAN region, as it has age-old maritime connections with Southeast Asia.

00:38The Bali Yatra and Orissa's connections with Sri Lanka speak of these vibrant cultural

00:43ties.

00:44These exchanges were renewed during this 18th Prabhasi Bharatiya Divya Convention.

00:51It also eliminated those historical journeys and efforts underway to revive them.

00:59It has given us an opportunity to showcase the art, culture, literature, heritage, tourism

01:07potential and the life of Orissa to Prabhasi Bhartis and others who had come for this event.

01:15And as Secretary MEA has pointed out, it has been largely getting a very good positive

01:22feedback and appreciated by all who had attended this event.

01:27We had identified 31 tourist places in Orissa adjoining Bhubaneswar and nearby areas and

01:34we are very happy to know that the participants were able to visit all these places and many

01:41other places and they had a very positive and delightful experience.

01:49We had also set up a small exhibition, an Orissa pavilion and one exposing Orissa's

01:57rich history and culture.

01:59Both were very well received and the Honorable Chief Minister has decided that the exhibition

02:06would continue for two more days.

02:08And we hope many more citizens of Bhubaneswar including students from schools and college

02:13students will be able to attend that.
