00:00The police are trying to get the family out of the car but the family is not going anywhere.
00:07The family is in a state of panic.
00:10The family is trying to get the family out of the car but the family is not going anywhere.
00:20This is hell we are living in.
00:23All the people who were there were trying to escape. I was one of them.
00:28I am angry, I am sad for everything that has happened to us.
00:35All the people who lost their homes, we are like refugees here.
00:40I don't know how long we are going to last, but from what I hear it will be like three days or less if possible.
00:46They don't want to evacuate us to other areas or look for other places where we can hide.
00:53At first they were just welcoming us, we didn't have a bed.
00:59But then they assigned us. My bed is 131.
01:04It's when they told me, your bed, we are fixing it.
01:10They have behaved wonderfully.
01:13They gave us clothes, all of their clothes.
01:17So since it's the second house that I lose, can you imagine?
01:23I can't find myself.
01:28Because I was only 5 years old and I am like a flea jumping here and there.
01:36What do I have tomorrow? The question is, what do I have tomorrow?
01:43We were evacuated in the morning just for security purposes.
01:46And then the power outages we had caused us to stay here longer because we had no power at the houses.
01:52And also we were still in an area that was evacuated.
01:55So now I am hoping to go home to be able to see at least the results of the fire and to see if everything is intact at this point.
02:02They have been great actually. It's my first time having to go through an evacuation.
02:06And I have been very pleased at the resources and people stepping up to help.
02:12It's very heartwarming to know that people...
02:25That people step up to help. You know, others in need.
02:29So I am good right now. It's okay. It's tough.
02:34I came for some relief because I lost everything. My house burnt down and I lost everything.
02:40I didn't have time to take anything but clothes on my back and a couple outfits and some shoes.
02:47And I am looking for my pets. I don't know what happened to my dogs.
02:51We are at the City of Pasadena shelter which is housing about 1,200 residents
02:56that have been evacuated as a result of the fires in Altadena, Pasadena.
03:01They have been here since the onset. Some were literally rescued by our police department.
03:06Went in, put them in the back of a police vehicle, a SWAT vehicle to get them out of the impacted area
03:13because fire was spreading to their building.
03:15We have meals being provided, mental health care if needed, medical assessments.
03:20A lot of the residents that were evacuated from some of these skilled nursing facilities require medical attention.
03:26We do have our public health department nurses here on-site assisting.
03:31We have the American Red Cross. Other agencies have come in to help us.
