Alexander Schellenberg, Austria's foreign minister, was sworn in as interim chancellor
00:08
on Friday while the country works to form a new government.
00:13
Schellenberg, 55, is stepping in after conservative Chancellor Karl Nehammer, part of the Austrian
00:20
People's Party, announced his resignation last weekend.
00:25
Nehammer decided to step down after failing to form a coalition without including the
00:31
far-right Freedom Party.
00:33
But following Nehammer's resignation, his Austrian People's Party reversed its stance
00:39
and is now open to working with the far-right Freedom Party, led by Herbert Kickl.
00:46
The interim leader of the People's Party, Christian Stocker, said he will meet with
00:51
Kickl.
00:52
He will be Schellenberg's second brief term as Austria's leader.
