00:07Your global presence gives you a unique perspective and your achievements place you in a position

00:13to significantly contribute to the realization of a developed India.

00:19I have seen this firsthand during my interactions with our diaspora as part of my travel abroad.

00:28I urge you all to actively engage in this journey for your success, like the success

00:35of India.

00:36Ladies and gentlemen, recognizing the crucial role of the diaspora in nation-building, the

00:45Government of India has taken several initiatives to support it.

00:51Consular services for non-resident Indians have been simplified.

00:57For overseas citizens of India, processes have been digitized and streamlined.

01:04Initiatives like the Know India program provide avenues for the younger members of our diaspora

01:11to rediscover their Indian roots.

01:15I am happy to know that the Odisha government is appointing a nodal minister for engaging

01:21with Provasi Bharatiya for project investment, etc.

01:26I appreciate the step taken by the Odisha government.

01:46We have also been proactive in safeguarding the interests of Indians living abroad.

01:57In recent years, we have launched several missions, including Operation Kaveri, Operation

02:04Gonga, and Operation Vande Bharat, to assist distressed Indians.

02:10Today, Indians around the world can count on their homeland for support and protection

02:17in times of need.

02:19Ladies and gentlemen, over the last three days, experts from diverse fields have come

02:26together here to discuss issues of importance for both India as well its diaspora.

02:34You all must have seen the special exhibit at the convention, which highlights various

02:41important facets of our diaspora's connection and contribution to India.

02:48I am sure these insightful discussions will help to shape policies that benefit both India

02:59and the global community.

03:02A special mention must also be made of the contributions of women, students, and the

03:08youth amongst our diaspora.

03:11The achievements of Indian women globally are a matter of immense pride for us as they

03:17break barriers and scale new heights in various fields.
