01:26And both of us are artists of the 6th generation in our family.

01:31Our father and uncle, Padma Bhushan,

01:35Swarga Pandit Rajan Mishra ji, Pandit Sajan Mishra ji,

01:39have been and are our gurus.

01:42And we have also learnt music from our grandfather, Pandit Hanuman Prasad Mishra ji.

01:47So it is our good fortune that we belong to such a family and such a legacy.

01:54And Banaras is the oldest city in the world.

01:59So the older the city, the older is its tradition of music.

02:04Pandit Ritesh Mishra ji, you both sing together.

02:14So what is different from the tradition of your father and uncle?

02:19Look, we cannot do anything different from their tradition.

02:25The path they have shown us, we have to follow that path.

02:51Mishra ji, what is the importance of vocals in Indian classical music?
