CES 2025: From vacuums to robots, AI takes centre stage at largest tech fair

The annual Consumer Electronics Show opens on January 7 and will host over 4,500 exhibitors in Las Vegas.

00:00AI is really important because without artificial intelligence and machine

00:29learning, the robotic arm is just a robotic arm. It won't have any kind of

00:33agency of its own. But thanks to machine learning, it's able to actually

00:37recognize objects in the ground, walk around them, pick them up, and know where

00:42to go, know where to place them.

00:45The idea is that she treats the symptoms, the behavioral and psychological

00:59symptoms of dementia, really by providing comfort and companionship round-the-clock.

01:04You use nature, the power of nature, being the animals, and through the

01:13behavior, because we know the behavior of the animals with our technologies,

01:17and we know if they're healthy, and if they are disturbed by any kind of pollution,

01:22we can detect it live and send messages and early warning systems, if you want,

01:29to bring this information to our clients.

01:43There's a lot that calls for AI and is trying to find a reason to be, but it's

01:50not necessary. I think one of the things that I was really intrigued by was a

01:56spice dispenser that used AI to figure out what kind of spices you can use in a

02:02dish. I don't know, maybe because I'm Italian, I don't know if I need that.

02:09I think they're still trying to solve a problem that is actually not there to

02:14start with.
