00:29This is part of the 53rd National Day celebration of the Gulf State.
00:34I am proud to announce that on the occasion of the 53rd National Day of the United Arab Emirates,
00:42220 Filipinos were pardoned by his Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
00:52The Chief Executive stated that the pardon is a symbol of the strong relationship between the Philippines and the UAE.
00:59This decision, which was added to the 143 Filipinos who were pardoned during Aid al-Ata,
01:09proves that our countries are strong.
01:13President R. Marcos thanked the leader of the United Arab Emirates.
01:18We extend, of course, our heartfelt gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan
01:25and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum,
01:29whom I also had the honor to meet for this very compassionate gesture.
01:33At present, President Marcos is asking for the rescue of more than 200 Filipinos from the UAE.
01:40Our countrymen are continuing to process the documents for their immediate return.
