00:00Jennifer Lopez, Jenny from the block, J-Lo.
00:03Should I start working out?
00:04She was pushing us to get up.
00:05I'm like, ow, stand up.
00:07Even through tough times, I always try to find the lesson.
00:10I always try to say, I'm going to come out better.
00:14It's lovely to see you both.
00:16It was so great to see you at the premiere.
00:18What was it like getting to watch the film
00:21and see the audience respond to it?
00:23Oh, I can take this one first.
00:24Yes, go.
00:25Yeah, I've seen it a few times and I absolutely love it
00:28because I'm in there and I'm feeling everything
00:31that's happening.
00:32But hearing the crowd and seeing their reaction,
00:35even the moments that are tough, to me,
00:39I was grateful for the opportunity.
00:40I was grateful that someone like Jennifer
00:43would play this role and take it on like she did
00:45with so much dedication and heart and meaning.
00:48And it made it really personal for me.
00:50And it was exciting.
00:51It was very, very exciting.
00:53Absolutely.
00:54Yeah, when I watched it in Toronto,
00:55the very first time I saw the finished film
00:58in front of an audience that we knew
01:00was going to be reviewing it the next day,
01:02which is always nerve-wracking.
01:03I've been to Toronto a couple of times.
01:06And I was just like, to hear them cheering,
01:09to hear them laughing, to hear them sniffling
01:13and trying to hold back the little sobs,
01:15it was such a beautiful way to see the movie the first time.
01:21And I felt tremendously proud.
01:22All I could think at the end of the movie
01:24was when they were applauding,
01:26was for Judy and Anthony to stand up
01:29because it really was their triumph.
01:33It's a film for us, but this is their life.
01:35And I was proud of them.
01:38I felt like you deserve this.
01:41Stand up.
01:42This is your life.
01:43And it was a beautiful moment.
01:45And I'm really happy with the way
01:47that audiences are receiving it.
01:50It's a very inspirational and moving film.
01:54It's so inspirational.
01:55She was right behind us and she was pushing us to get up.
01:57I'm like, oh, stand up.
01:59I love that because you were very humble at the premiere as well.
02:02So I got that vibe.
02:03But when you found out Jennifer Lopez,
02:06Jenny from the block, J-Lo is going to be playing you in a movie.
02:10I didn't believe Anthony when he called me.
02:14I was like, no, no, she's not.
02:16And my reaction, my first reaction was like,
02:19I was on the phone and I physically sat up
02:22and I'm like, should I start working out?
02:23Like, it didn't make any sense to me whatsoever.
02:26But I'm like, oh my God, what's wrong with me?
02:28So, but it was, I mean, honestly, honored.
02:31Honored that she would read the script, want to play me,
02:34but then to take it to the level that she did
02:36when we first met by Zoom.
02:38She had this huge binder
02:40and then she's writing all these things down.
02:42And I'm like, okay.
02:43But she came from a place of trust.
02:47Someone that I could, like, I'm telling you all these things
02:49and I'm trusting you to take them.
02:51Yes, it was necessary for the film,
02:53but I also knew that if I wanted, like,
02:55hey, I'm not comfortable with that,
02:57she totally would have done it.
02:58So that's what I appreciated
03:00and that's what made me open up to her more
03:01and to trust her more.
03:02And you're also unstoppable as well.
03:05I mean, everything you've achieved,
03:07like you are an inspiration in yourself.
03:10What inspires you to keep pushing on
03:12and being unstoppable?
03:15You know, I think like Anthony says,
03:17we all wrestle with things in our lives
03:19and there's times when things are going great
03:20and then times when it's more challenging.
03:23And I think it's in those times that really define you.
03:25It's like, what are you going to do with that?
03:27And I think for me, even through tough times,
03:30I always try to find the lesson.
03:32I always try to say, I'm going to come out better.
03:36And that's important, especially again, being moms.
03:39And that's how we bonded at first.
03:40It's like through being a mom.
03:42You know, you want to show your kids that.
03:45You want to say, you can go through hard things.
03:48The whole world can fall apart
03:50and you can come out better on the other side.
03:53And I think that is the most important thing
03:55that this movie shows us too.
03:56It's like, no matter what your challenges are,
03:59you can really overcome them and not overcome them,
04:02but just like become stronger than you were before.
04:06And that to me is a movie worth making, especially now.
04:10Oh, that's such a lovely note to end on.
04:12Thank you so much.
04:13Honestly, it's so inspiring.
04:14And I'm loving this like friendship.
04:16Judy and J-Lo, it's got a ring to it.
04:18Yes, she's amazing.
04:20And she doesn't give herself enough credit.
04:22And I'm glad that this movie was made for that reason as well.
04:26So she can start owning some of her own spectacularness,
04:30some of her own power and beauty and resilience.
04:34Because Anthony wouldn't, as he says himself,
04:37be where he is or become the man or the human being
04:40or the champion that he is without his mom.
04:43Absolutely.
04:44You're a legend, Judy.
04:45Just accept it, accept it.
04:46I'm learning, I'm learning.
04:47It's just hard.
04:49I know.
04:49I get it.
04:50I get it.
04:50Thank you so much.
04:51And thank you for this film and for the story and everything,
04:53because it's just, it's so inspiring.
