00:54When Luca was born, I noticed that he couldn't make eye contact.

01:18When Alexander was born, I was already experienced,

01:24He's non-verbal.

01:27Alexander was in a very difficult situation

01:31because it was very hard to just walk on the street.

01:36He's been making noises.

01:42It was very hard to deal with people,

01:45to see their weird looks and their comments.

01:50The idea of founding the Ortega mural campaign

01:54was to raise autism awareness by mural paintings.

02:00I wanted to explain that we all have the same rights

02:05and we deserve to be in public.

02:07We are valuable members of society.

02:12I think that art is a very important tool

02:17I think that art is a universal language,

02:20especially autistic kids because for many of them,

02:24it's the only way to communicate with the world.

02:28When people don't understand me, I feel a little bit annoyed.

02:32The problem is I talk way too much and way too fast

02:36and people cannot catch my words.

02:39I like drawing.

02:41I find it fun and express my skills.

02:46I had only three months finding roles for paint,

02:50communicating with parents, free check posters and social media.

02:55Doing all this was really hard, but it's worth it.

03:09It was just gathering with some kids,

03:12painting and some artistic and entertaining activities.

03:19I always try to use different kinds of activities

03:23because it's a spectrum and someone can speak, someone can't.

03:27Someone likes music, someone can take noises.

03:31Some children are hyperactive,

03:34so they need something to send their huge energy,

03:39something like a trampoline or a bicycle or a hammock.

03:43We want to give them all the comfort they need.

03:49My child doesn't walk and speak.

03:52He liked it, I think, because that day he smiled every time

03:58and somehow it was interesting for him.

04:03After my campaign, I really noticed a big difference.

04:06One year ago, people were less informed about our children.

04:10Now when we walk on the street and my kids do something

04:15and I say he's autistic, people know.

04:19I think this programme also makes more and more activity to such children.

04:25This is very good for them.

04:28Society will understand more about such kind of children.

04:34I also understand more about autism.

04:40It really helps me to take part in everyday life of my child.

04:56After that campaign was other campaigns.

04:59There are parents that started to make their own project.

05:06Some of them made integrated space for kids,

05:09other of trying to make something for parents.

05:14So this campaign was really helpful.

05:18My goal is to found the holistic centre for parents like me

05:24to spend our time with yoga or meditation or just gathering together

05:31and feel that we are also humans.

05:37My biggest dream is to live in a society where we feel comfortable.
