ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್​ಎಂಪಿವಿ ಸೋಂಕು ಪತ್ತೆಯಾಗಿರುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಸಚಿವ ದಿನೇಶ್​ ಗುಂಡೂರಾವ್ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

00:00This is the first case in Karnataka because it has been there for the longest time, certain percentage of people have this.

00:06Every time if you go into a detailed testing, you know, in Baptist Hospital, they have tested.

00:12Yeah, private hospital. So, we can't call it a first case at all, anywhere in the country because it is already there.

00:19This may have been, they may have tested for this particular thing and it has been detected, that's all.

00:25But not that it is a first case because they are also looking at it and everybody is aware, I will not say they are also lags

00:31because I think nobody wants to create some unnecessary storm and create panic.

00:38This is something which is a common existing virus and it comes and goes and what is happening in China is something that they are monitoring

00:48and any future, we are also discussing, I have told our officers to have a word with ICMR and Government of India

00:56and I am having a meeting at 12.30 to see if any other new information has come and any further steps we have to take.

01:10I mean, of course, the PCR testing is always there for this but whether that is needed or not is something to look at.

01:17Whether it is causing any serious, is it a serious public health concern, that has to be first of all decided.

01:24Is it really a public health concern?

01:26That's because one case has been detected.

01:29If you test anybody with some cold, they will have some virus in them.

01:34If you test, I have got a slight cough right now, so I will be having something.

01:38So, that is another issue but is it a public health concern or not?

01:42That is something we have to take a decision.

01:44Based upon that, then we can take further decisions.

01:46Sir, why is that?

01:47I don't think we should be simply testing when, you know, unnecessary.

01:51How many, for every person with cold and cough, you start testing and you know, what is the use of all that.

01:55To find out the strain of this.

01:56But that, see, this is our own, these are all local strains which have been there.

02:00Whether China, what is the, we should also first know what is the strain that is there in China.

02:05That information has to come.

02:07So, whether do they have it or not, I do not know.

02:09So, let us see, I think, maybe I can give you more clarity after the meeting gets over.

02:15And I will not want to blame anybody.

02:17But of course, we all have to be careful.

02:19And take whatever necessary, which is there for all, any viral or any bacterial diseases.

02:27If we are careful, it is better for us.

02:29To wash our hands, to, you know, to maintain some distance, especially if you have got symptoms.

02:34Those things are, already advisories have been issued.
