00:30At the same time as the martyrdom of Gat Jose Rizal,

00:35the award-winning 1998 historical film of GMA Pictures, Jose Rizal, was released on Netflix.

00:42It was digitally restored and remastered.

00:47It is clearer to see the life and death of our countryman,

00:53including his education.

00:57At the University of Santo Tomas, he took the first course of Rizal, or Pepe,

01:02but he switched to medicine.

01:04It was included in a book by the historian Rev. Fr. Fidel Villarroel.

01:11This is his transcript of records in the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery

01:16that was taken from the archives of the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

01:19According to the UST, out of 21 subjects of Rizal,

01:23he was able to get 6 excellent or sobresaliente,

01:286 very good,

01:308 good,

01:31and 1 passing grade.

01:34In the last year of Rizal's med school,

01:37only 7 were left, and he was the 2nd place.
