The US Masters is, of course, one of golf's four major championships, but winning at Augusta
00:04
National carries with it a series of perks that go well beyond the famous green jacket.
00:09
In this video, we're going to highlight exactly what they are. Let's start by talking money.
00:14
The winner of the Masters pockets a check that's just in excess of $2 million. Not bad for four
00:20
days work. In addition to that, he also wins a sterling silver replica of the Masters trophy,
00:26
which depicts the Augusta National Clubhouse, and a gold medallion with a view of the clubhouse
00:31
from the front. Now, of course, one of the most famous perks is the chance to not only attend the
00:36
champions dinner each year, but also to choose the menu for that dinner the year after you win.
00:41
This truly is one of the most exclusive dinner invites in the world. The year after winning his
00:46
first Masters in 1997, Tiger Woods famously offered a menu of cheeseburgers, french fries,
00:52
chicken sandwiches, and milkshakes. Now, past champions also receive a special invite to
00:58
compete in the tournament every year after they win, and an honorary membership at Augusta National.
01:03
So what about that famous green jacket? Well, the winner of the Masters gets to take the jacket home
01:08
with him and keep it for a year. But once that year is up, he has to return the jacket to Augusta
01:14
National and can only wear it when he's on golf club grounds. The last thing to mention is the
01:19
exemptions. The world of professional golf opens its arms to a Masters winner, with five-year
01:25
exemptions to the other majors as well as the PGA Tour. So as you can see, there is a lot to be
01:31
gained by winning the Masters. Thanks for watching, we'll see you next time.
