Best of 2024: Jurgen Klopp bids farewell to Liverpool

Klopp says farewell to the Liverpool faithful and reiterates that he will not go back into management soon

00:00I'm a Liverpool supporter and I love that.

00:15Everything, everything impacted me, it was fantastic.

00:19I said the boys showed class,

00:22but it's difficult to deal with these kind of things.

00:26I could not use the exit of the AXA training ground,

00:29I could not go out there, I would still stand there and sign autographs.

00:33People show me so much love, it's fine,

00:35I cannot come to my house and stuff like this, it's all nice,

00:38but it's really difficult to take.

00:45It's so positive and I wish it would be for somebody else

00:47and I would be his best friend.

00:49So that would be great, my best friend gets all this attention,

00:52but I get all the attention, that's really tricky to take, to be honest.

00:55I just try to get through this and there will be a moment

00:58when nobody asks me anymore, nobody looks at me anymore,

01:00and I just go down for a few hours or days, I don't know, we will see that.

01:05But for the moment I have to function, I have to keep going and do that.

01:10But it was today wonderful, an absolutely incredible and wonderful time.

01:16I love it, my family was on the pitch, which was nice, really nice.

01:23Now we will have a party, then we will come back next week for another event.

01:28And I will come back occasionally, just like I said, as a supporter now.

01:32I don't know exactly why nobody believes that I probably will not be a manager again,

01:38but I understand, because obviously it seems to be a drug.

01:41But it looks like, because everybody comes back and works until they are 70-something,

01:47I always had the idea I will not do that for that long.

01:51Other people are smarter, other people can do it in a different way,

01:55but I have to be all in, I have to be the spark, I have to be the energiser,

01:59I have to be all these kinds of things, and I am empty.

02:03So, that's it.

02:05I have to start with the rest now, and then we will see.

02:08But it's not that I feel now already, and maybe the next opportunity...

02:12You only have to look outside, which clubs are obviously available and stuff like this,

02:17so there will be opportunities, but I don't sit here and think,

02:21maybe in a year's time I will take that.
