00:00Mad, mad, mad, D-Mad, D-Mad, D-Mad, D-Mad, mad, mad, mad, D-Mad, D-Mad, D-Mad, D-Mad,
00:07drama, making a difference, mad.
00:09They're known for bringing smiles to faces with their dramatic performances.
00:14But at least once a year, the Mad Company lifts the spirits of dozens of families across the country
00:20by gifting them much-needed food supplies.
00:23Plenty of people are like, hey, I want a hamper, I want a hamper.
00:26How the Mad operates, we know groups that work in communities, Hearts and Hands of God,
00:35Moruga, Moruga Poverty Reduction Center, we have Laka Sita, we have Families in Action.
00:44Those groups, these groups that work in communities throughout the year,
00:48they would know individuals in their community that need.
00:52So what we will do, we will give the NGOs.
00:55It's all made possible through the goodwill of several entities and individuals.
00:59We got things from flour mills, we got things from Vemco, we got things from those big, big, big.
01:05And then after that, we got things from the everyday man, where we would have gone on Instagram and talk,
01:11and people would call us and say, yo, come and take a 200, come and take a $50.
01:16I want to make a big, resounding thank you for the Red Man Maxi Taxis,
01:22because I'm a Maxi Taxi driver myself, and those drivers really poured into this.
01:29The Mad Company has been using drama as a tool to treat with various thematic issues for the past 18 years.
01:36We did an anti-bullying campaign earlier on in St. Lucia.
01:40We did red flags in terms of domestic violence.
01:45U.S. Embassy reached out to us to talk to us about domestic violence.
01:50Also, we did economics, crime, love, whatever you want to think about.
01:58Drama is a tool. Drama is a tool.
02:02We touched a lot of lives.
02:04I think what has impacted me is when random people on the streets come up and talk and say,
02:11hey, if it wasn't for the mad, I would have been dead.
02:14Like, literally, that is a testimony.
02:16If it wasn't for the mad, I would not have this job.
02:18Thank you. Thank you for coming in school and pointing out this issue for us.
02:23Unfortunately, the mad is also in need of support,
02:26as after 18 years in the business of youth development, they still have no place to call home.
02:32Now, if you have a building, let me know.
02:37Because the mad is not going nowhere.
02:39We are 18 years, and it has 18 more years of work to do in Trinidad and Tobago.
02:45A lot of people pointing fingers at X, Y, and Z.
02:48But I always think to start a change, it starts with you.
02:52Don't look for somebody else to help you.
02:55Start you. You.
02:57If you want to help your community, you start helping your community.
03:00So the plea is, reach out to us.
03:03Tell us how you can help us, and we would always be here doing things like this.
03:07The mad company can be reached at 761-1734 or via their social media pages.
03:14Renessa Cutting, TV6 News.
