Astronauts send Christmas message to Earth from International Space Station  Astronauts aboard the International Space Station share a special holiday Christmas message back to Earth, as they spend this festive season away from their loved ones. NASA reports that the seven astronauts aboard the station would share a meal to mark Christmas, as well as have the chance to talk to family on Earth. 00:00Welcome to the International Space Station as we get ready for the Christmas holidays.

00:05It's a great time of year up here.

00:07We get to spend it with all of our family up on the International Space Station.

00:12There's seven of us up here, and so we're going to get to enjoy company together.

00:16And one of the best things that I like about Christmas is the preparation

00:20and just getting ready, the anticipation, everybody getting together

00:24and preparing stuff and just getting ready for the holiday.

00:28A couple little things we have here with us to just prepare,

00:33which will be sort of fun in a couple days.

00:40You know, in Christmastime, the holiday season,

00:42it's about spending time with friends and family and loved ones.

00:46You know, this year we're going to be in orbit away from them.

00:51So we want to send our heartfelt Merry Christmas,

00:55and we hope you have a wonderful holiday.

00:59I want to also mention that, you know,

01:01we're not the only ones that are going to spend time away from our families over the holidays.

01:07There's a huge team on the ground that's going to support us in mission controls

01:11around the globe over the holidays,

01:14and I want to thank them for the sacrifices that they're making.

01:17Together, we work hand in hand with the ground every day,

01:22and over the holidays, we keep this mission going.

01:26Merry Christmas.

01:31And Christmas is synonymous with food and feasting,

01:37and boy, do we have a feast packaged up here.

01:43And of course, Christmas is Christ.

01:47Hallelujah. A Savior is born.

01:51So from all of us to all of you, Merry Christmas.
