00:002002, end of February, and you have the Gujarat riots, and I'm in the campus, and on the day

00:05of the campus, 28th of Feb, 2002, I'm going from the campus to the railway station, and

00:10I'm witnessing the globally infamous Gujarat riots first hand, I'm seeing what is going

00:15on.

00:16Then, 9-11, that was 2001, now I'm in the campus, right, I'm in the dorm, and there

00:20are these two planes flying into the twin towers, and you are forced to think, if money

00:25is everything, if material is everything, if prosperity is everything, if the so-called

00:29happiness is everything, why is this happening?

00:32These are things that make you really think, unless you are totally preoccupied with your

00:37personal stuff like career, or relationships, or girlfriend, or something, you are a living

00:42being, and your sense of inquiry, your inquisitiveness, your analytical skills, your logical skills,

00:48are not there just to apply on a particular balance sheet or a strategy problem, right?

00:53You look at the world in general, and you apply your analytical skills.
