00:00On this vote, the yeas are 174, the nays are 234.
00:295-1 voting present.
00:32Two-thirds not being in the affirmative.
00:34The rules are not suspended, and the bill is not passed.
00:38Our leader, Hakeem Jeffries, is supposed to negotiate with, is it Mike Johnson, is he
01:03the Speaker of the House, or is it Donald Trump, or is it Elon Musk, or is it somebody
01:07else?
01:08So we've got to try to figure out how to salvage some kind of public interest out of
01:43Very disappointing to us that all but two Democrats voted against aid to farmers and
01:57ranchers, against disaster relief, against all these bipartisan measures that had already
02:02been negotiated and decided upon.
02:04Again, the only difference on this legislation was that we would push the debt ceiling to
02:10January of 2027.
02:11I want you all to remember that it was just last spring that the same Democrats berated
02:16Republicans and said that it was irresponsible to hold the debt limit, the debt ceiling hostage.
02:22What changed?
02:23It is, I think, really irresponsible for us to risk a shutdown over these issues on things
02:27that they have already agreed upon.
02:30I think you need to be asking them the questions about that.
02:33We will regroup, and we will come up with another solution, so stay tuned.
02:41Don't miss out.
