00:00Theater director and producer Bobby Garcia died Tuesday, December 17.
00:06He was 55.
00:07His friend TV host Boya Bunda reported it on Wednesday, December 18.
00:12Garcia was in Vancouver, Canada when he passed away.
00:14Garcia has 50 plays and musicals under his belt in Canada and Asia including China, Singapore
00:19and the Philippines.
00:21Several of his productions garnered nominations for the Tony, Drama League and Outer Critics
00:25Circle Awards.
00:26Here Lies Love, which he co-produced, earned four Tony Award nominations.
00:30Most recently, he directed Requesta Radio, starring Lea Salonga and Dolly DeLeon.
00:35His other productions include Sweeney Todd, Beautiful, The Carole King Musical, Saturday
00:39Night Fever, The King and I and Disney's The Little Mermaid.
00:42He founded Atlantis Productions, which became the Atlantis Theatrical Group of Companies
00:47in 1999.
