00:22President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. witnessed the ceremonial signing of five infrastructure projects of the Department of Transportation
00:32that aims to improve the lives of Filipinos, especially in the Visayas and Mindanao.
00:36Among the signed projects is the New Cebu International Container Port project worth P17 billion,
00:42which, according to the President, will help address congestion at the Cebu Base Port.
00:46Meanwhile, the Cebu Bus Rapid Transit project is expected to address traffic in the area,
00:51providing a reliable and efficient transport system for Cebuanos.
00:55Costing over P28 billion, this modern bus network will connect key parts of Cebu City,
01:01making daily commuters easier in their commute and more comfortable.
01:06The President also highlighted that tourism in the province of Bohol will be further boosted
01:10through the Bohol-Panglao International Airport PPP Project Concession Agreement,
01:15which aims to develop the airport with funds amounting to P4.5 billion.
01:19According to the President, this project is expected to generate P15 million in annual revenue during the first five years,
01:26increasing to P200 million annually after the concession period.
01:30But more than just the revenue, its true success will be the number of lives that it will change for the better in Bohol.
01:39It is a promise to our beloved people that they will be the first to benefit from the continued arrival of tourists and of investors.
01:47Agreements for the new Dumaguete and New Siargao Regional Airports were also signed,
01:51which, according to the President, will address and resolve the limited connectivity of these areas,
01:56making them more accessible to tourists.
01:58The chief executive assured that new airports will meet international standards.
02:03But beyond the technical aspects, what is important is a positive change that they will bring.
02:09These projects shall allow our farmers to efficiently bring produce to new markets,
02:15tourists to discover more of the charms of these islands, and entrepreneurs to expand their businesses.
02:22The President also emphasized these projects will open doors to more job and livelihood opportunities.
02:27He assured the government will continue its efforts to implement projects to significantly improve the lives of Filipinos.
02:33These projects are not just structures.
02:36They are representative of every Filipino's dream of more comfortable travel,
02:42better opportunities, and a clearer path towards their goals and dreams.
