Interim boss Slegers 'desperate' for Arsenal performances amid uncertain future

Arsenal women interim head coach Renee Slegers says she is in communication witb the club about her future.

00:00In general, I have very good communication with the club and they are working on it behind the scenes, so there's nothing to share here.

00:09Given how you started and given what you're building, how desperate are you now to continue what you started and what you've built?

00:16I'm desperate for the team to be performing well and keep on performing well.

00:22I've said it many times, but I want to bring it back to the players.

00:26I think there's been a shift in mindset and I think they've been stepping up in many parts of what it means to be a footballer,

00:33so on the pitch, off the pitch, as a group, as individuals, so I think I want to bring it back to them.

00:38They will stay together as a group and they will have to keep on pushing this.

00:42In whatever way or shape I can help, I'll be there to support.

00:48I've done it in my role previously and I want to keep on being a part of this team.

00:53She's come in under really difficult circumstances and really steadied the ship.

00:58I think she's given a lot of individual players a lot of confidence to play how they want to play and to go out and do their thing,

01:07and the group as well, a lot of confidence.

01:10I think she brings a lot of positive energy and is a really good communicator

01:15and that's just been a really effective way to manage the group and I think you can see that in the results.
