00:26from scamming facilities here in Cambodia.
00:29This is what the Philippine Ambassador to Cambodia, Flery Daan Kamilmayo,
00:34wrote in a statement of Radyo Pilipinas World Service.
00:38According to a report by the Embassy on Assistance to Nationals or ATN,
00:4475% of the cases are related to human trafficking or are involved in online scamming jobs.
00:50They are often victims of illegal recruitment for online customer support agents
00:56who are being forced to work for online scamming.
01:00They are being asked to pay a high salary and receive a free board and lodging.
01:06A total of 300 Filipinos in Cambodia who are victims of human trafficking
01:11have been rescued and sent back to the Philippines since 2021.
01:17Since 2021, around 300 have been rescued and sent back from trafficking situations.
01:34The Filipino community is also active in reaching out to the Philippine Embassy
01:39to turn over the concerns raised by Filipinos in need of help in Cambodia.
