Clarissa Quartermaine of retro-inspired fashion brand House of Foxy shows Yorkshire Post Fashion Editor Stephanie Smith around the Elland mill where the 1920s-1970s style clothes are made.

00:00Hello, my name is Clarissa Quartermaine and I am founder and creative director of the House of Foxy.

00:05We are in Wellington Mills in Elland and on site here we manufacture

00:10the majority of our clothing which is more vintage inspired but for the modern wearer.

00:17It's inspired by the 20th century, 1920s through to more recently, we've gone into the 1970s,

00:25styles inspired by Aussie Clark originals, Bieber and Bus Stop, that sort of mid-70s era which was

00:34inspired by the 1930s so we have a lot to go at. This is our on-site factory where we have

00:41all our products made. We have five machinists and two cutters. This is a 1930s, late 30s

00:53inspired coat based on an original image and pattern that we've kind of modernised.

01:01So it's a princess line style, heavily shoulder padded, made in 100% wool. This is where we do

01:08the pattern cutting, where we take the design onto paper and card and then we go through a

01:14grading process. It's not the sort of thing you'll find on the average high street and we

01:28make them in limited numbers so we'll probably only make 20 of these and they are certainly

01:35made with a lot of love by our seamstresses here who are all Yorkshire folk.
