01:52tutumumuzun bir sembolü olarak Afrika'nın bu güzide köşesinde barış ve istikrarın

02:04Mayıs ayından itibaren tarafların rızasıyla dışişleri bakanlarımız 2 defa Ankara'da
02:131 kerede Birleşmiş Milletler Genel Kurulu vesilesiyle Türk evinde bir araya geldiler.
02:22Yüz yüze yapılan bu toplantıların yanı sıra birçok kez de telefon irtibatımız oldu.
02:29Tüm bu süreç boyunca tarafların hassasiyetlerini, önceliklerini ve beklentilerini dikkatle

02:39Her 2 ülkenin değerli katkılarıyla da bugün mutabık kaldığımız ortak bildiri

02:50Bu ortak bildiri geçmişe değil, geleceğe odaklanmakta bizim için çok önem taşıyan
02:58bu 2 dost ülkenin bundan sonra inşa edecekleri ilkeleri kayda geçirmektedir.

03:52Biraz önce mutabık kalınan ortak bildirinin önümüzdeki dönemde karşılıklı saygı
03:59temelinde bölgede işbirliği, ekonomik kalkınma ve refah için sağlam temel oluşturacağına

04:09Bu aynı zamanda devlet adamlarının gelecek nesillere karşı görev ve sorumluluğudur.
04:19Burada ilan ettiğimiz uzlaşı böylesi bir vizyonun ürünüdür.

05:13The effort that have been put into this endeavor that we have concluded tonight at this hour
05:20in one aspect, it's a conclusion because it stops on the differences that we had in
05:28the recent times.
05:29Ethiopia and Somalia are two neighborly countries and they have mutual interests in cooperating
05:37together and building a prosperous future of both our two countries and our two people.
05:45We are very much grateful for the efforts of Turkey.
05:49Ethiopia as has been will remain a true friend of Ethiopia for the future and the years to
05:58come in order to that relationship to benefit our people.
06:03We belong to a region where peace and stability is the first priority for our people's lives
06:13and we have common and mutual opportunities to develop together in our own interests.
06:20Somalia will contribute towards that and we are ready to work with the Ethiopian leadership
06:27and the Ethiopian people to benefit the opportunities that we had in all aspects.
06:34As we sit here, we have recognized that the sacrifices that Ethiopian forces made
06:43in Somalia within the African Union peacekeeping missions many, many years in the past.
06:51That shows how much our people are interlinked and we will keep continuing on that.
06:58Besides that, Ethiopia and Somalia has so many commonalities than differences.
07:08Our differences are very limited.
07:10Our commonalities are very high.
07:12We will try and we will do everything that moves forward and benefits our both people
07:19in a peaceful manner.
07:21Our region needs our cooperation.
07:24The Horn of Africa is a very fragile, very volatile region which needs both Ethiopia
07:30and Somalia to work together in order to provide a mutual benefit for both our countries,
07:37our people, and the people of the region as well.
07:41We have a lot of opportunities for prosperity and we will do together to make sure that
07:46our people live and benefit those opportunities.

08:30I would like to thank President Tayyip Recep Erdogan, his government, and the people of
08:37Turkey for the warm welcome and generous hospitality.
08:43I take this opportune moment to express appreciation for the government of Turkey's commitment
08:50to peace efforts in the Horn of Africa.
08:54President Erdogan has taken the initiative to facilitate a series of discussions at
09:02the foreign minister level between the fraternal nations of Ethiopia and Somalia over the
09:09past few months.
09:12These efforts have culminated in today's meeting at the level of the leaders with a commitment
09:19to address misunderstandings that have transpired over the course of the past year.
09:28As neighbors, Ethiopia and Somalia have endured relations for centuries.
09:35We are not only neighbors, but brothers and sisters whose fates have been bound by blood.
09:44Not only do Ethiopians and Somalis share common ancestry, language, and culture, but
09:51we are also held together with the blood sacrifice that has been paid by thousands of Ethiopian
09:59soldiers.
