00:0000.05 Massive vehicles, huge wheels, loud engines
00:12and lots of mud.
00:13This is the intense and dirty world of mega mud trucks.
00:19The adrenaline rush is like no other, it's unbelievable.
00:25We have different events at every event. There's going to be the tire pull.
00:31There's hill and hole event, that's where we jump the truck, cross three hills as a timed event.
00:36There will also be mud drags where we're in the mud, side by side drag racing. It's better than any drug.
00:45An avid fan of mega truck events, Ryan Kemp from Georgia, USA, felt he could no longer stay on the sidelines
00:52and decided to have his own competition standard vehicle built, so he could take part himself.
00:57That original truck is just a two wheel drive, low rider, street truck.
01:02Bought it over in South Carolina, I made about a four hour drive.
01:05Basically there and back, bought the truck, took it to BMF Fab, they began the process of starting the chassis.
01:13It took a whole year and an outlay of $80,000 for his 650 mega truck to be finished.
01:20It's a 1950 Chevrolet, a full body truck, it's all steel. It has a 540 blower motor.
01:28It's a 1271 BDS street blower, runs on alcohol.
01:33It's got two and a half ton axles, front and rear.
01:38It has 20 inch travel Scott shocks.
01:42These are the 13-6-26 BKT 171s, they've been cut and scooped for more traction.
01:50The rims are powder coated with a metallic finish.
01:54It's got the full roll cage, five point harnesses, special seats, everything about them.
02:00Safety is definitely number one priority.
02:03Despite the extensive safety features, Ryan's wife Brittany still has her concerns.
02:08As his wife, I'm always his number one fan.
02:11When we were at West Georgia Mud Park a couple of weeks ago, they were just out playing around.
02:15They had done a jump, and when he landed, he landed on two wheels.
02:21And that is probably the most nerve wracking thing, is just knowing that there is a possibility that they could flip.
02:29So far, Ryan has taken part in eight competitions.
02:33And today, he's driving at Trucks Gone Wild at Bithlow Mud Racing in Florida, USA.
02:39Even before the event has begun, his vehicle is attracting attention.
02:43Very unique truck, one of a kind, beautiful paint job, beautiful truck, nice craftsmanship.
02:50I think it's beautiful, I've always loved older model vehicles.
02:53You see one all jacked up with all the different equipment that you don't see on other vehicles.
02:59But it won't stay clean and shiny for long, as Ryan prepares for today's event.
03:04We have different events at every event.
03:06This one happens to be the tire pull, this is the tri-truck challenge, there will be a three truck team.
03:29We're two seconds off the leader, so right now we're in second place.
03:32So that's a great day overall, it was an awesome run.
03:35Teammates did great, it was perfect.
03:38But the end of the competition isn't the end of Ryan's day with his pride and joy.
03:42As soon as I get home, I try to wash it as quick as I can, it comes off a little bit easier.
03:46But the pressure washing process, it's a lot of work.
03:48It's a lot of work, but it's a lot of fun.
03:50It's a lot of fun.
03:51It's a lot of fun.
03:52It's a lot of fun.
03:53It's a lot of fun.
03:54It's a lot of fun.
03:55As quick as I can, it comes off a little bit easier.
03:57But the pressure washing process, it can take anywhere from three to four hours to get it cleaned up.
04:02This truck will never be for sale.
04:04It's just something I've dreamed of and I have a year of my life and time and money involved in.
04:09I'll hang on to that one and give it to my son.
