00:19Born in Marietta, California, Fowler started playing golf only on a driving range and was

00:25pretty much entirely self-taught at the game. He had some success in high school and it was enough

00:30to give him a scholarship where he would go on to study at the University of Oklahoma.

00:34Fowler had a decorated amateur and collegiate career. In 2007, he was a member of the winning

00:40U.S. Walker Cup team and also won the Sonny Hanna and Players Amateur in the same year.

00:51in the U.S. His full name is Rick Yutaka Fowler. It's not known exactly when and why he preferred
