00:00A lot of people in the South actually do know Hindi.

00:02They have a working knowledge.

00:04But you come to the North, how many people understand Kannada or Telugu?

00:09In the South, Hindi has largely been accepted.

00:12But what do you want them to do?

00:14You want them to stop speaking Kannada and completely switch to Hindi?

00:18Is that the kind of vicious and infantile idea you have?

00:24They already know Hindi.

00:26They at least understand Hindi.

00:28Won't you look into the mirror and ask yourself,

00:31how much of Kannada do I know?

00:34Why should only Hindi be the link language when you speak to a Tamilian?

00:38Why do you expect the Tamilian to know Hindi?

00:41Why can't you know just a bit of a smattering of Tamil?

00:46Won't that be respectful?

00:48And if you can speak a bit of Tamil,

00:50you will find he will happily reciprocate by speaking a bit of Hindi.

00:54And that's the way healthy relationships are.
